This year, Niccolò Machiavelli’s The Prince will turn 500-years old (dating from its completion, not publication). By any standard, The Prince is one of the most striking works of the western intellectual tradition. Generating both positive and negative reactions, Machiavelli has affected the development of every discipline that cares about politics.
To celebrate the 500th anniversary of the completion of The Prince a group of academic programs and departments located in the Research Triangle will hold an academic conference in March of 2013.
